Penn State to host 2011 early childhood education summit
The fourth annual Early Childhood Summit will be held on November 30th through December 2nd at the Penn Stater in State College.
Over 200 workshop sessions for all specializations and practice areas in the early care and education field are scheduled. The summit features over 24 hours of professional development eligible for Act 48, CEUs and DPW credit.
Ellen Galinksy, author of Mind in the Making and singer and songwriter Stuart Stotts will be the featured keynoters. Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Ron Tomalis will speak at the conference on Thursday.
Nationally-recognized experts in early education public policy and programming featured at the conference include Helen Blank, National Women’s Law Center, Yasmina Vinci, National Head Start Association, and Eric Karolek, Early Care and Education Consortium. Camille Catlett of the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute in North Carolina will present sessions on diversity and inclusion.
