Hunting Park Fall Festival & Block Party
Posted by on October 10, 2011
Join us on October 15 for the Hunting Park Fall Festival & Block Party!
The City of Philadelphia, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Citizens Bank Foundation, and The Food Trust will kick off Philadelphia’s two-week, city-wide celebration of National Food Day during the Hunting Park Fall Festival & Block Party on Saturday October 15. The Hunting Park Fall Festival is a celebration of the new 11,000 square foot community garden and the first full season of the Hunting Park Farmer’s Market, two of the healthy eating and active living initiatives that have recently launched in the Hunting Park community as part of the Hunting Park Revitalization Project (HPRP). The HPRP, led by the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, is a community-driven project to bring transformative capital improvements to the 87-acre park and offer residents safe and affordable opportunities for healthy eating and active living.
Come out to see the dedication of the community garden, enjoy the Vicious Victory drill team and drum line, and shop at the farmer’s market. Hope to see you there!
