African, Caribbean health forum set for West Phila.
On Sunday September 25th, the African Family Health Organization will host its second annual African and Caribbean Health Forum with the theme Celebrating Our Heath from 11am to 6pm at the Women Empowerment Initiative, 4950 Aspen Street in West Philadelphia.
The forum will offer culturally and linguistically appropriate health education to community members, provide the opportunity for participants to question health experts and create dialogue around pertinent health issues affecting the African and Caribbean immigrant community. There will also be health professionals from the community to provide free health screenings and education regarding HIV education & testing, dental checks, vision, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol screenings, hepatitis education, testing and vaccination.
