We are seeking a Temporary Program Associate to evaluate program impact and effectiveness, to manage the process of program evaluation, and to research existing and new grant initiatives. The position reports to the Director of Evaluation and Planning and requires interaction with all program areas.
The successful candidate will work with external evaluators to design evaluation instruments and facilitate effective data collection. He/she will support and consult with program staff regarding evaluation, data collection, and current research. The Temporary Program Associate will be an advocate within the Foundation for active Evaluation and Planning involvement.
An understanding of policy change, data analysis, and the coordination of diverse interests is required, as is advanced research, writing and speaking skills, and the ability to work as part of a team managing multiple priorities. The Program Associate will produce and present evaluation reports.
We require several years of relevant professional experience or significant internships in policy, Children, Youth, and Families (CYF) programming, education, environmental sustainability, or community development. Other requirements are as follows:
Advanced degree in field related to program evaluation, statistics, research, and planning. BS/BA with relevant experience will be considered.
Experience with program evaluation, design, implementation, research, statistical analysis, and presentation methods (tables, maps, graphs, etc.).
Familiarity with advocacy, general public policy issues, and agendas in Philadelphia or other urban areas.
Above average PC Proficiency: Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access); SPSS, etc. Analysis and presentation of quantitative data. Internet research expertise and the ability to use relational databases are required.
