The American Mortgage System: Crisis and Reform
Now available through Penn Press, this book focuses on the causes of the housing market collapse and proposes solutions to prevent another mortgage meltdown. The book was edited by Susan M. Wachter, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and co-director of the Penn Institute for Urban Research, and Marvin M. Smith, community development research advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The book’s chapters are based on papers presented at the 2010 conference “Rethink. Recover. Rebuild. Reinventing Older Communities.”
