A film by Abigail E. Disney and Gini Reticker, “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” chronicles the remarkable story of the courageous Liberian women who came together to end a bloody civil war and bring peace to their shattered country. Inspiring, uplifting, and most of all motivating, it is a compelling testimony of how grassroots activism can alter the history of nations.
This event is FREE and open to the public, but registration is required.

In addition to the film, a limited number of seats are available for an interactive workshop, which will also be held at WHYY, and take place prior to the film screening.
Nonviolent Action: From Global Movements to Local Community Organizing

This workshop, co-sponsored by Training for Change, will explore how and why strategic nonviolence works and help attendees apply the lessons from peace movements, like those featured in “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” into their work.
