The mission of the Fairmount Community Development Corporation (FCDC), a 501(c)3 organization, is to foster the improvement of the residential, commercial and social fabric of the Fairmount neighborhood, while preserving its character & diversity.
Position Title: Grant Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Description: The Grant Manager works with the Executive Director and Board of FCDC and the Executive Director of the Greater Brewerytown CDC (GBCDC) and the Board of the GBCDC to manage all of the outcomes and deliverables required by a recent Neighborhood Plan Implementation Grant. This position is a grant funded position for three (3) years, with the potential for an additional two (2) years of funding. However, all grant funds are performance based, therefore meeting the required outcomes and deliverables in the Grant Agreement are conditions precedent to continued funding.
The Neighborhood Plan Implementation Grant is funding the collaborative efforts of the FCDC and GBCDC to implement several of the recommendations in the Brewerytown Neighborhood Plan recently completed in September 2010. A copy of the Plan is on the FCDC and GBCDC website, so before responding to this job posting, please read and review the Plan.
We are searching for an individual who is detail oriented with excellent writing skills and significant professional writing experience. In addition to professional skills and experience, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with residents, business owners, and city and state officials to improve an already great community in a collaborative, transparent, resident-driven process.
Qualifications: It is required that the Grant Manager:
• Possess at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Possess at least two years work experience post-undergraduate studies.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Have excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
• Passion for community development and be able to work with a diverse population of stakeholders.
• Open and accepting attitude.
Desired Qualifications: It is highly preferred that the Grant Manager:
• Have 2-3 years professional grant writing and/or other fundraising experience
• Possess at least a bachelor’s degree preferably in Sociology, Political Science, History, English, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, business or related fields.
• Have experience with grassroots or political organizing.
