Healthy Carts Program Seeks Applicants
Twenty healthy carts, mobile food cart that sells fruits and vegetables in low-income Philadelphia communities, will begin operation in 2011-2012. During this pilot year, cart operators will receive free small business training, licensing fee waivers, marketing assistance, and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) machines so that the vendors can serve people who use food stamps/SNAP.
For information about how you can help bring a healthy cart to your community, visit here or email Rachel Hynes at rachel.hynes@phila.gov.
