Role:
The Technology Systems Contractor work will support the IT needs for Media Mobilizing Project’s media production, media training, education and organizing.

Responsibilities:
The Technology Systems Contractor will be responsible for identifying and documenting IT needs, collaboratively developing IT solutions, implementing these solutions and training MMP Staff in use, best practices, and ongoing maintenance of IT systems.

Specific areas of IT planning and deployment will include:

Office and public computer networks including shared access drives, printers and wireless access points

File and user server deployment and hosting for user login, media sharing and archiving.

Contact Relationship Management database development and maintenance

Troubleshooting computer issues in a Mac OS X and Windows 7/XP environment

Domain and user management for email, mailing lists, in Google apps

Website maintenance and updates.

Assisting in continued development of web based applications including

Learning Management Systems, Email Campaigns, SMS group messaging and other applications

Qualifications:

Experience deploying secure networks and maintaining networks for small office uses, media production, and public access.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing issues on Mac OS X and Windows XP/7 systems.

Experience administering Unix/Linux or Mac OS based servers with services including file sharing, Domain Name Server (DNS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Active Directory.

Experience maintaining Contact Relationship Management (CRM) systems/ databases.

Experience developing and maintaining Content Management System based websites.

Strong ability to train others in technical skills, including basic use, upkeep, and troubleshooting of technology systems.

Strong ability advise in technology decisions for non-profit/ community organizations.
Strong ability to work collaboratively in developing IT solutions and resolving

IT needs with other staff, volunteers and partner organizations.

Strong ability to document IT plans and solutions.

Strong self-organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Additional technology experience that will be helpful (but not required):

Experience with Salesforce or other web-based CRMs a plus.

Experience developing in Drupal a plus.

Experience in mesh wireless networking a plus.

Experience programming and scripting in languages including Java Script, PHP, Ruby on Rails a plus.

Experience managing Digital Asset Management databases such as CAT-DV or Final Cut Pro Server a plus.

Time and Pay:

The Technology Systems Contractor is a 16hr/ week part-time contractor position lasting for the next 6 months. Days of the week are flexible, but applicants should dedicated at least two days a week 10-5pm (or equivalent) to the position and be able to work from the MMP main office.

Pay is commensurate with experience.
