Internship Posting: The Salvation Army Sponsor Gardener Internship
Position: Garden and Educational Programs Intern
Location: West Philadelphia Corps Community Center – 5501 Market Street
Available: Immediately; 30 hours/week for 16 weeks
Salary: $12/hour
This is a donation funded internship, which will focus on planning and executing all aspects of intergenerational community garden program focused on providing life enrichment for children, seniors and interested community members. Responsibility includes teaching basic botany and gardening skills 2 days a week; recruiting and organizing volunteers; and assist with coordination of youth entrepreneurship program. Requirements include high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of secondary education and experience. Proficiency in MS Suite is required. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. An intermediate level of gardening knowledge.
