Posted by on May 01, 2011
The National Dropout Prevention Center is pleased to announce the release of its newest publication, Teachable Moments: Ethics and Reflection in Service-Learning by Teddi Fishman and Lorelei Swanson. This Linking Learning With Life guidebook is focused on helping educators with teaching the process of ethical decision making using the pedagogy of service-learning.
The book is co-sponsored by The Rutland Institute for Ethics at Clemson University and the International Center for Academic Integrity and includes the “Ethical Toolkit,” which provides a complete look at the multifaceted ways to approach ethical decision making. Through the use of the Ethical Toolkit and the completely developed steps explained throughout the book, educators will learn how to guide their students’ reflections to incorporate ethical decision making in everyday problems and global issues.
