Pennsylvania celebrates National Citizenship Day 2011 on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Volunteer attorneys will provide free assistance to eligible lawful permanent residents who wish to apply for U.S. citizenship.

You may be eligible to take the civics test in your own language if you are:
•    Age 50+ and living in the U.S. for 20 years as a permanent resident.
•    Age 55+ and living in the U.S. for 15 years as a permanent resident.

2.     Answer a few questions to determine your eligibility.
3.     Choose your site: Center City – 1199C Training Center, 100 S. Broad St, Land Title Building, 10th Floor
North Philadelphia – Esperanza, 4621 N. 5th St
South Philadelphia – SEAMAAC, Inc., 1711 S. Broad St
Upper Darby – MCFS of Upper Darby, 7016 Terminal Sq. Suite 1-A

National Pro Bono Citizenship Day is a project of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA), Esperanza* (host site),  HIAS and Council Migration Services of Philadelphia, Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania, CEIBA, Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania, Nationalities Service Center, PA Immigration and Citizenship Coalition, Mayor’s Commission on Literacy, Mayor’s Commission for African and Caribbean Immigrant Affairs, 1199c Training and Upgrading Program* (host site), Multicultural Community Family Services of Upper Darby* (host site), Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition (SEAMAAC)* (host site), the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent (VIP)… and more organizations are joining in sponsorship all the time.
