State seeks proposals for infant-toddler symposium
The PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning is currently accepting workshop proposals for their summer infant-toddler symposium, A Brighter Tomorrow: Cultivating Infants’ and Toddlers’ Social Emotional Development, to be held at the Blair County Convention Center, July 19-21.
Invited to attend the Symposium are parents, home visitors, teachers and administrators in various infant-toddler programs throughout Pennsylvania. The Symposium will provide attendees with a quality professional development opportunity focused on the unique needs, issues and topics that those who work with infants, toddlers and their families face, particularly around the areas of social emotional development, mental health and behavior.
Prospective presenters should submit proposals that focus on the social emotional related themes and, where appropriate, tie in the importance of safe, secure practices that are environmentally conscious and look to program sustainability. The Symposium will include a track focused on the Center on the Social Emotional Foundations of Early Learning, and the committee welcomes proposals related to Positive Behavior Support practices specific to infants and toddlers.
