Youth Delegates Invited to NLC’s 2011 Congressional City Conference
As part of National League of Cities’s ongoing commitment to promote youth participation in local government, the YEF Institute will organize special sessions for youth delegates attending NLC’s Congressional City Conference, which will be held March 12-16, 2011, in Washington, D.C. Municipal officials can bring youth delegates ages 15-18 to the conference, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn about the federal policies of greatest concern to the nation’s cities and towns.
Youth delegates participate in all general sessions and workshops, interact with peers and local officials, and discuss opportunities to take action in their communities. The YEF Institute’s “youth-only” special sessions provide context to the conference and facilitate networking with youth and adult leaders from other communities. Youth delegates, as well as adult chaperones who are not local elected officials and would not otherwise attend the conference, receive a discounted registration rate of only $100. For more information, contact Leon Andrews at (202) 626-3039 or [email protected].
