MANAGER, SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM – ADULT AND FAMILY SERVICES
JFCS is looking for an experienced leader to develop, expand and implement our Center for Special Needs Program providing service to individuals with special needs to maximize their independence, self-sufficiency, and sense of empowerment by partnering with them throughout the life cycle and with the goal of having them achieve an optimal quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
• Development and implementation of the business plan, including budget, marketing and evaluation metrics
• Identifying opportunities for marketing JCFS’ Center for Special Needs and coordinated care management services to external audiences
• Research, pitch and secure leading special needs providers as online advertisers/sponsors and individuals/special needs affiliated groups to subscribe to the Resource Center’s support and social networking subscription services
• Develop and coordinate, in conjunction with Director of Marketing and PR, all internal and external communications and marketing Serve as the partner liaison with government agencies, membership organizations, nonprofits, hospitals and universities and other providers that address the needs of people with disabilities to facilitating strong partnerships and support
• Responsible for staff training so that employees are prepared for challenges and changes
• Establish collaborative relationships with other Jewish agencies and other relevant community providers
• Continually develop and leverage the Resource Center provider contacts and benefits to better serve the special needs community in Philadelphia
The qualified candidate will have:
• Masters degree in business, marketing, social science, or organizational development
• At least 5 years experience in marketing/communications and most preferably in a social services environment
• Minimum of 2 years experience in responsible business development, relationship management, client service, member relations work experience.
• Broad knowledge of and experience in the corporate and nonprofit social services world with general knowledge of issues facing individuals with disabilities
• An understanding of special needs is highly desirable.
• An entrepreneurial spirit with well-developed interpersonal skills, an understanding of and commitment to customer service and a professional demeanor
• Strategic thinking and the ability to recognize and leverage opportunities related to JFCS and the Center for Special Needs mission
• Strong client-facing experience and abilities, including project planning and oversight, and problem solving
• Outstanding written and verbal communication, and outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to speak publicly to a wide range of audiences, from individuals with special needs to senior level executives to the press, and capable and concise presenter of ideas, products, plans, policy, news, strategic direction
• Ability to work effectively and compassionately with individuals with disabilities, from various ethnic and religious groups and to understand the meaning of cultural competency
