Tree Tenders Basic Training Course

Tree Tenders is a nine-hour training course that empowers concerned residents to make dramatic strides towards restoring and caring for their local tree canopy. Help beautify your neighborhood and region by planting trees.

This course offers hands-on tree care training for residents of the Greater Philadelphia region including Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Bucks and Montgomery counties. Given the intensity of the training and the late hours, the training is not appropriate for children under 16.   ISA, PA LA, PLNA and Act 48 continuing education credits are available.

TRAINING INCLUDES:

• Tree Biology
• Urban Stresses on Trees
• Tree Identification
• Tree Planting
• Community Organizing
• Basic Tree Pruning and Root Care

Your Community can form a Tree Tenders group by having three or more people from your community graduate from the course.  Benefits include tree grant and volunteer tree planting opportunities.

Pre-registration is required: Please register online at http://www.phsonline.org Fee: $25
