Join US Census personnel for a morning overview of key Census highlights and new features aimed at helping you identify and share vital information about your target community. 2010 Census data will be available in March. Join attorneys and insurance professionals who will help to answer your questions and discuss methods for protecting your non-profit’s assets. Hear from community development professionals about pit-falls to avoid and best practices to emulate. Using GIS and Pocket NIS to Tell Your Neighborhood’s Story
Philadelphia CDCs have been using the Pocket Neighborhood Inventory System to collect data about their neighborhoods since 2001, enabling them to think more strategically and improve planning in rebuilding and revitalizing neighborhoods. This workshop will highlight the benefits of using this technology and what types of data can be collected. It will also show how CDCs are using the data collected and include an on the street, hands-on demonstration of the technology. Time: Thurs., March 3rd; 9:30 until 11:30; Location: PACDC Offices; Cost: $25 members/$40 non-members
Expand Horizons, Expand Fundraising
Join seasoned fundraising lecturer and consultant Matthew Hugg for a hands on workshop focused on helping you get the most out of your fundraising efforts, focusing in on individual giving, special events and merchandising . Successful community development colleagues will be on hand to talk about their innovative programs, how they got started, what to watch out for and follow-up. Time: Tues., March 15th; 9:00 until 12:00; Location: Eastern University, John F. Kennedy Blvd. Campus; Cost: $35 members/$60 non-members.
