What methods and models are working in teaching men of color? What drives high-achieving men of color to teach? Evidence has shown that success of children of color depends mightily upon the presence of high-achieving teachers of color, especially males. The Makuu Black Cultural Center and Teach For America invite you to participate in a panel discussion outlining the current state of education in Philadelphia and reviewing success stories that can be emulated. College students, school administrators/faculty, community members and parents are encouraged to attend.
The Makuu Black Cultural Center is a nexus of academic, personal, and professional growth for University of Pennsylvania students interested in Black culture and the African Diaspora. Through advising, leadership development, social and cultural programming we expand student access to the University’s resources.
