Manager, Outreach and Community Engagement, Awbury Arboretum
Awbury Arboretum, a 55-acre public park in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, seeks an energetic, experienced and creative individual to manage our community engagement efforts. This new position will direct communications, membership development and community outreach. Upcoming projects will include working with an outside firm to redesign our website, designing and implementing a volunteer program and developing an electronic newsletter. We are looking for someone with a combination of relevant education and experience in a healthy mix of the following: social media, websites and database management; public speaking, writing, and site interpretation; urban parks, horticulture and agriculture; volunteer management; program design and development; community development or organizing; fundraising; events management; environmental education and historic preservation. We’re looking for someone who can take a project from start to finish, work with diverse audiences and has some experience with the nonprofit sector. This is not an entry level position but could be right for someone with some project management experience and ready for more responsibility. Note: This is a very hands-on position which will include extensive public contact and some evening and weekend work.
Please send a resume and cover letter to: Karen Anderson, Executive Director, at kanderson@awbury.org. No calls please!
