Description:
The Philadelphia-based Rock School for Dance Education, a pre-professional dance training institution with a $4.5 million budget and two campuses, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will report to the Executive Director and the Chairman of the Board , and is responsible for all financial activities for the organization; monitoring, reporting, forecasting and managing the finance department staff. The CFO will review operating and internal control procedures and present recommendations, where appropriate, for improving reporting and communicating financial information. The CFO is responsible for the organization’s compliance with GAAP in consultation with the independent outside audit firm. The CFO will develop a model of non-profit accounting that incorporates significant transparency principles and industry best practices. The CFO will also develop and oversee financial strategies, revenue opportunities and manage banking relationships.

Additional Qualifications:
A qualified candidate has a CPA or Master’s degree in accounting, or related ?eld, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant financial experience. He or she must possess an extensive knowledge and understanding of GAAP and NFP regulations, and a commitment to identifying and communicating innovative ideas to improve procedures, policies and performance. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, with complete knowledge and experience with NFP accounting processes and business practices. The ideal candidate will exhibit discretion, flexibility, diplomacy, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate with other departments.
