The Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) Assistant will effectively represent The Partnership CDC in the community. The Neighborhood Advisory Council Assistant will attend community meetings including block captains meetings, town watch, police advisory board, etc. and coordinate participation in community events such as annual street festival, community fairs, block clean-ups, tree plantings, etc. The Neighborhood Advisory Council Assistant will also assist with special awareness campaigns such as the energy conservation program; foreclosure diversion program, block party and neighborhood condition surveys. Due to the community meeting schedules, this position will require some evening and weekend scheduling.
The Neighborhood Advisory Council Assistant has internal contacts with the entire administrative staff and external contact with community organizations, vendors, and contract administrators. This position has access to sensitive company and community information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism.
The Neighborhood Advisory Council Assistant is a member of the NAC department and will report to the NAC Coordinator and participate in department activities as necessary.
Additional Qualifications:
– Demonstrates ability to carefully set priorities, meet deadlines, delegate appropriately, and schedule time efficiently.
– Proficient Microsoft Office Suite.
– Familiarity with operating office equipment and standard clerical practices.
– Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
– Compose correspondence with proper spelling, grammar and articulation.
– Ability to speak effectively to groups and communicate the value of TPCDC and NAC services to the community.
– Demonstrated political savvy in establishing key community relationships to promote TPCDC mission.
– Ability to negotiate effectively and professionally.
– General compassion for helping others.
– Familiarity with operating office equipment and standard clerical practices.
– Knowledge of board meeting practices, minute taking and Roberts Rules of Order is desirable.
– Demonstrates ability to work with other people through a cooperative effort and practice effective conflict resolution.
Minimum Experience: 2 years experience working in a non-profit community based program or 5 years relevant experience with emphasis on community services and programs..
Minimum Education: 4-year college degree or High School diploma with equivalent related work experience.
