Nomination Period Opens for Charles Bronfman Prize Honoring Humanitarian Work

The Charles Bronfman Prize annually recognizes Jewish humanitarians whose work, while inspired by personal Jewish values, is of universal benefit to all people.

The prize celebrates the vision and endeavor of an individual (or group of individuals) under the age of 50 whose humanitarian work has contributed significantly to the betterment of the world. The prize is designed to bring public recognition to young, dynamic individuals whose Jewish values infuse their humanitarian accomplishments and provide inspiration to future generations.

The prize celebrates humanitarian endeavor across a broad spectrum of disciplines. Past recipients have distinguished themselves through their work in genetics, the environment, medical education, humanitarian relief, and the transformation of public education.

Nominees should be individuals or teams (not organizations). Nominees should have not reached their fiftieth birthday by the close of the nomination period on January 14, 2011. Self-nominations are not accepted.

The prize recipient(s) will receive an award of $100,000.
