Making Smaller Better: Finding Regeneration Opportunities in Pennsylvania’s Smaller Cities

Do the seeds of city renewal necessarily lie with growth and expansion – or can smaller be better? This region-wide symposium will build on the momentum of innovations in Michigan, Ohio and elsewhere to bring proven methods for the strategic reclamation and management of vacant urban property to the attention of policy makers and implementers in our region.

Our keynote speaker at 6 p.m. on December 2nd is Toni Griffin, Adjunct Associate Professor at Harvard University and currently a consultant to the City of Detroit.

On December 3rd, a “proven practices” roundtable featuring national thought leaders will be followed by a conversation among innovators closer to home, including sponsors of land-banking legislation recently passed by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
