Description:
Esperanza has an immediate opening for a full time Employment Specialist. The Employment Specialist is responsible for the case management and maintenance of job matching services for the participants of Esperanza’s EARN Center.
Essential duties and skills include:
• Identifying and maintaining contact with employers that offer appropriate job opportunities for job candidates.
• Establishing relationships with job candidates in order to determine previous work history, employment interest and to help develop an employment course.
• Developing linkages with government agencies, the job developer community, the non-profit and the business community to create employment strategies and opportunities for clients.
• Overseeing the schedule of job candidates’ interviews and the necessary follow up on employer responses to interviews.
• Serving as a liaison between job candidates and employers when appropriates or necessary.
• Maintaining files as per contract requirements with all contacts, KRONOS time sheets, signatures, job search logs, etc.
• Establishing career counseling relationship with client that emphasizes retention from initial contact through (possibly multiple) job placements for up to one year post-placement.
Additional Qualifications:
• Two years of employment services/case manager experience.
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university or any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by Esperanza.
• Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred.
