peer reviewers needed, Pennsylvania AmeriCorps*State Applications

PennSERVE is once again looking for peer reviewers for the 2011-2012 Pennsylvania AmeriCorps*State Applications. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 3, 2010.

If you know individuals who are familiar with AmeriCorps and who you think have the ability to evaluate an AmeriCorps proposal using pre-determined criteria, please provide PennSERVE with contact information.   The name, email and phone information for potential peer reviewers should be submitted to Jonie Buggy (jbuggy@state.pa.us) by November 8th.

Unfortunately, there is no compensation and reviewers must sign “no conflict of interest “statements.   However, it is a good experience that offers insight into grant writing, collaborative partnerships and program design.  Estimated time it takes for reviewing each application is 2-3 hours.

The peer reviewers will undergo an orientation by conference call during the week of Nov 29th and will receive no more than 3 or 4 applications (depending on what is received), along with scoring sheets by Dec 7.  Completed review sheets are due back to PennSERVE no later than December 21st.
