Philly Fellows seeks nonprofit placements

Philly Fellows, a year-of-service program dedicated to strengthening Philadelphia-area nonprofits while building the next generation of civic leaders, is seeking new non-profit partners to host fellows of the 2009-2010 cohort.

Each fellow, selected from a highly competitive pool of first-year college graduates, spends a year building capacity at one of our partner agencies while undergoing leadership- and professional-development training.

Fellows receive free housing, a living stipend, healthcare, and an education award.  Host agencies pay just $10,000 for the year to help support the costs of the fellowship.  The 2009-2010 fellows will be selected and matched next spring and will begin work in the summer of 2009.

The group is seeking dynamic Philadelphia non-profit organizations with a proven record of effectiveness to become hosts.  All placements must focus on capacity building (as opposed to direct service) and must be designed with measurable outcomes that help eliminate conditions of poverty.

Information about the program and the application process can be found here. Reply forms are due September 30, 2008.
