Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program
Posted by on August 25, 2008
I am pleased to alert you of the start of the Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program. Under the SES program (No Child Left Behind) FREE tutoring can be given to eligible students attending a Philadelphia public school in Corrective Action. Parents will receive a package in the mail from the School District of Philadelphia on or near September 22, 2008, if they qualify for these services.
Please help families with this process by reviewing the package with them and helping them to select an SES provider. For the second year, our agency is one of the approved SES providers, but the parent’s selection should be based on the needs of the student and the family.
The program is typically under-utilized by the 35,000 Philadelphia families eligible for these services. To increase the overall use and benefits for students that need these services, we are available to talk to groups of students and parents to explain the process and to assist them with completing the forms. Our SES sites are in Germantown and West Philadelphia.
If you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
