Philadelphia Guide to Behavioral Health Services for Children
Posted by on September 03, 2010
PCCY behavioral guide now online
The new guide for behavioral health services for children published by Public Citizens for Children and Youth is now available on line.
This edition of the guide includes information about the signs and symptoms of trauma in children, a description of trauma-focused treatment and tips for how to identify agencies and individuals qualified to provide trauma- focused treatment.
Also included in the guide is a list of agencies in Philadelphia that provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based model of treatment for children.
This new information in the PCCY guide is an outgrowth of a workgroup spearheaded by Multiplying Connections, which began with a survey of Philadelphia children’s behavioral health providers about their capacity and training to provide evidence based trauma focused treatment for children.
