Youth Action Team seeks 50 African American youth leaders

To commemorate its 10th anniversary year, Philadelphia’s Youth Action Team is looking to strengthen the work of its founders and carry on a legacy committed to positive social change. To that end, Youth Action seeks to select 50 of the most diverse and talented African American student leaders who reside in the Greater Philadelphia area to become members of Youth Action.

The team is currently inviting interest applications from some of the most devoted high school and college student leaders in Philadelphia.

Youth Action provides dynamic African American high school and college students with an opportunity to craft innovative service projects geared to increasing their peers’ involvement with leadership and service in their communities. Students who participate in Youth Action benefit from networking opportunities with committed student leaders, experiential leadership development, non-profit development work experience, community service hours, and college scholarships.

Youth Action is a youth-led community development not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting youth advocacy, youth leadership, and youth empowerment through education and civic engagement. Solely operated by high school and college students in Philadelphia, Youth Action works to empower young African Americans to become socially, economically, and civically aware. YA believes that through organizing innovative youth captivating service events, they can challenge and empower their peers to become agents of social change in their communities.

YA is asking that students interested in their program directly fill out an interest form available here.
