Young Leaders Program Board Recruitment Fair

United Way invites you to attend the Young Leaders Program Board Recruitment Fair!

Join United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey at the board recruitment fair to meet the 2016 graduates of the Young Leaders Program (YLP), who are eager to learn about nonprofits in our region and explore the opportunities available for board service!

Participants in YLP, a board orientation program, attend six sessions that focus on fundraising, board roles and responsibilities, board and administrator relationships, legal and ethical issues, and organizational life cycles. After graduation, United Way provides a forum to introduce nonprofit organizations with open board positions to qualified candidates.

Additionally, please make sure you register your board opportunities on United Way’s Volunteer Portal.

This can be done in five easy steps:

Step 1: Register your Agency on United Way’s Volunteer Portal. (This will take 48 hours.) Already Registered? Skip to Step 2!
Step 2: Log onto your Volunteer Portal account and click on My Agency to access your profile
Step 3: Go to Volunteer Opportunities (located as the third tab in the middle of the screen) and click Add New Opportunity
Step 4: Fill out the form to register your board opportunity, making sure you select Board Service in the interest field so participants can easily find you!
Step 5: Email a link to your opportunity to Kate to confirm your registration.

To ensure your board opportunities are listed in the YLP opportunity guide received by each participant, RSVP’s and opportunities are due by close of business on June 1.
