Mighty Teen Scholars Futuro
For Philadelphia students ages 13 to 17
Thurs., 5:30-7:30pm
September 14, 2017 to June 7, 2018
This workshop will take place at MW El Futuro,1025 S. 9th St.
We’re about critical thinking, dynamic discussions and achievement, with a focus on Mexican culture, Latino/a literature and local community. Get ready for college-level communication and writing in this weekly group for high schoolers.

For Philadelphia students ages 11 to 14

Let your voice be heard! We’re all about leadership and building community. Get ready to focus on informative, persuasive, narrative, poetry writing and open real-talk conversations. Participants are in grades 6-8.

Make Your Point!
For Philadelphia students ages 15 to 18
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm
November 7, 14, 21, 28 (four sessions)
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street
In this college prep course, you’ll make arguments about polarizing issues of today and then revise, revise, and revise to sharpen your point. With editor Phil Wagner, learn the tricks to creating polished, concise, and convincing writing.

High School Essay Night at MW West
For Philadelphia students ages 12 to 15
Tuesday, 6:00-8:00pm
October 17, 2017
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
Getting into the right high school can mean getting into a good college, creating a domino effect of success in your life. In one night, volunteers work with you (8th graders only, please) on your high school admission essay.
