Join the Coalition Against Hunger for World Food Day 2005

The Coalition Against Hunger will host its annual Philadelphia World Food Day celebration on Friday, October 28, 2005. Register now to attend this free event, a day of workshops and discussion about the problem of hunger in Philadelphia, and what we can do to fight it. The day will begin with a free continental breakfast, and continue with a presentation by keynote speaker Leonard Fein, the founder of MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. Dr. Fein has written and spoken extensively about the need for the American community as a whole to respond to the challenges of hunger and poverty.

In addition to Dr. Fein’s speech, World Food Day participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops throughout the day on the following topics: the link between hunger and obesity, local efforts to bring supermarkets to inner city neighborhoods, a project to educate the public about the reality of living on food stamps, and a mural celebrating the Coalition’s 10^th anniversary. Please join the Coalition for this powerful, thought-provoking event, and lend your energy to Philadelphia’s fight against hunger.
