Women’s Regional Business Council Essay Contest

The Women?s Regional Business Council (WRBC) is a unique non-profit membership group comprised of exciting, enterprising and achieving professional women spanning a truly diverse spectrum of organizations located in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. We are committed to ?inclusivity? and the members of the WRBC all work together to promote their professional and personal goals during networking at extraordinary monthly meetings/events led by inspiring and notable speakers, through mentoring programs among members, and by promoting noteworthy special events and advocacy efforts to serve diverse member interests.

The WRBC has been supporting the community since its inception in 2003 and since 2005 has provided scholarships to inspire young women who aspire to be business leaders.

Awards
The scholarship recipient will receive:
$1,000 cash award toward tuition, books, educational equipment or supplies
one year free membership in the WRBC
free admission to two WRBC networking or educational events for one year
eligibility for participation in the WRBC mentoring program for one year

Criteria
Must be a current (2006-2007) high school female student in 12th grade OR current (2006-2007) female college freshman
Must attend a high school or college in the tri-state region
Must be enrolled in a tri-state area college for the 2007-2008 academic year
Must submit a typed essay of 450 – 550 words on the indicated topic
Must submit a completed application
Must submit a current report card or transcript of grades

Application Procedures & Deadlines
All applications, accompanying essays and materials must be submitted by Monday, May 28, 2007. It is preferred that the applications and other documents are electronically submitted but mailed copies are also acceptable. The scholarship will be announced by June 1, 2007.
