Alexia Foundation Accepting Proposals for 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant

The Alexia Foundation, which encourages photojournalists to create stories that drive change, is accepting proposals for its 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant.

One $25,000 grant will be awarded for a documentary photographic or multimedia project on a significant issue involving and affecting women. Suggested issues and themes include femininity and the culture of abuse; women making a difference, leading, and changing things for the better; gender inequality; the direct connection between women, education, and birth rates, children’s health, and household income; gender discrimination; women in the military; and mental health issues. The grant recipient will have six months, or until March 1, 2015, to complete the project.

The foundation welcomes proposals from photojournalists anywhere in the world.

Visit the Alexia Foundation for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
