Weekend course: Reforming Social Institutions

Posted by on November 12, 2004

I would like to inform you of a unique opportunity coming to your students this spring. This course is for both graduate and upper-level undergraduate students. Please take a look and distribute the attached, which describes the course and provides more information on the instructor.

Charles Rojzman, internationally known for his work on anti-violence and democratic practices, has taught two seminars at Temple that many students found not only interesting but transformative. He is returning to teach another seminar in the coming Spring 05 term. A doctoral student in Urban Ed, Karen Malandra, says this:

“I HIGHLY recommend this seminar!! I’ve take two seminars with Charles as well as participated in an international gathering in France. At the France seminar, Fatima [Hafiz] and I met with Charles and others from a number of countries working on institutional reform. This was a very enlightening experience to be able to communicate with others working on similar issues in a variety of context as well as having the opportunity to step outside of my home culture and take a different look at what’s going on. Each of these seminars yielded pedagogical and practical insights that continue to shape my work in teaching, community partnerships, writing, living etc. If you want to talk further, don’t hesitate to contact me. ”
