Website User Experience for Nonprofits

Website User Experience for Nonprofits
a user-centered approach to website maintenance
Thursday, May 5, 2:00 – 5:00 PM
CultureWorks (1315 Walnut Street, Suite 320)

At its core, User Experience (UX) is how your audience feels about using a product, system, or service, whether you’re designing a website, an exhibit, or a toaster. How can you make something useful, easy to use, and enjoyable? How do you know if your target audience is having a good or bad experience?

Bring questions you have about your current website, and we’ll walk through a series of practical activities to assess your website from a user-centered point of view. We’ll work together to conduct user testing, evaluate visitor behavior with Google Analytics, and build a maintenance plan you can take with you. We’ll also cover topics like conducting a heuristic evaluation to help you discover potential usability problems.

You’ll work hands-on with your peers and our team to come up with concrete changes, and you’ll walk away with a pile of feedback, a better understanding of actual user behavior and typical expectations, and a strategy to implement improvements.

This workshop is for anyone managing or updating their organization’s website, and you’ll need a laptop, access to login to your website, and Google Analytics already installed. You don’t have to be a developer or a designer to integrate UX research and design into your practice. And you don’t have to do a full website redesign to make impactful changes now.
