Volunteers needed, WomenVote PA
Currently WomenVote PA is working with a number of organizations and agencies to help coordinate voter registration efforts and to turnout the women?s vote in November. WomenVote PA is a nonprofit coalition affiliated with the Women?s Law Project, and therefore, we cannot do any work that is related political campaigns or for any candidate. We can, however, connect issues, such as reproductive rights, economic self-sufficiency, low-income housing, etc. to the importance of voting and how women can help shape future public policy in our state.
Please check our new website at http://www.womenvotepa.org for future events and volunteer activities. We will also send out emails from time to time seeking volunteers for specific times and places. Additionally, you should go to the web site and participate in the Issue Forums by creating a log in and password. We believe this will be an extremely useful tool as we work together to develop a progressive agenda for Pennsylvania.
Immediate Need ? Volunteers for Project H.O.M.E.
Right now we need volunteers to work with Project H.O.M.E., located at 1515 Fairmount Avenue in Philadelphia. They will be doing a voter registration training on August 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and they will provide dinner. If you are interested in being a volunteer to help Project H.O.M.E., please contact Jennine Miller or Lauren Weinbaum at 215-232-7272 to let them know you are coming ? and mention WomenVote PA!
Other Volunteer Needs
WomenVote PA was recently chosen by a national group, Women?s Voices, Women Vote, to use their statewide list of single women of voting age both registered and unregistered. This list is also enhanced in other ways. We would like to begin phone calling this list beginning in August. We will need volunteers from about 6:00 to 8:30 pm most nights. We will send out another email when the phone bank is finally established.
Thanks for all your hard work.
