Volunteers Needed, Neighborhood Bike Works

Posted by on October 6, 2008

On October 11th and 12th, NBW will be collecting bicycles from folks out in Lower Merion at The Dump!  Each year we participate in the clean-up weekends at the dump to collect donations.  We get literally hundreds of bikes–really awesome, but we need help with all of them!  We are in desperate need of pick-ups by trucks, vans, wagon trains or flotillas. The event starts up both days at 8 AM, but we will not need pick-ups to start until 11 AM and most likely be every hour. Please let us know if you can lend us  hand by providing pick ups, helping disassemble and/or unload bicycles.

Also, even if you don’t have a vehicle, we still need your help on-site, helping to collect bikes from donors and load them into the trucks.  You can volunteer for any chunk of time.  There will be rides available with the pick-up/drop-off trucks going from our headquarters at 40th St. to the dump.  This is a really fun day and a great way to help out NBW!  Please call our office or reply to this email if you are interested.
Also, even if you can’t help out this time we are always in need of truck pickups, so if you want us to keep you on the list, please let us know!!

To volunteer, contact Manya Scheps at 215.386.0316.
