Volunteers Needed, Help for Homeowners Event

Posted by on October 21, 2013

The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as part of the Obama Administration’s Making Home Affordable Program, are partnering with the HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks America® to bring a free homeowner event to the area. These events are designed to help bring together homeowners in financial distress for a face-to-face meeting with a representative from their mortgage lender and/or local housing counselor.

Tuesday, October 29, 2013 • OPEN TO PUBLIC 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
Pennsylvania Convention Center – Philadelphia
1101 Arch Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107

We are hopeful that you will volunteer, provide volunteers from your agency and/or provide us with leads to other potential volunteers.  Volunteer shifts are:
Shift 1 from 11:30 AM-4:30 PM
Shift 2 from 3:30 PM-8:30 PM
Shift 3 from 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM

Volunteers are critical to the success of the day. We need at least 50 volunteers per shift to help us with registration, exit surveys, directional guidance, translation and additional assistance that helps the day run smoothly for the homeowner.

Volunteers will be provided with an event t-shirt, be fed, and receive free parking.  We are expecting approximately 15 mortgage lender companies and approximately 500-750 homeowners to attend.

Please also feel free to promote the event. We find that homeowners are more likely to attend when they hear about the event from a source they know and trust.

Register to volunteer for this event at http://volunteerpamha.eventbrite.com/

Please feel free to circulate this email to other potential volunteers. In addition, if you have partners or are aware of other local volunteer organizations that might be able to help us, let me know.

Thank you in advance for any support you can provide.  We look forward to working with you!
