volunteers needed, Dr. Seuss Day at WD Kelley School

Posted by on January 20, 2014

You are invited on Monday, March 3rd, to the W.D. Kelley School!! We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Day (also known as National Read Across America Day). During this time, we will coordinate programming for students to read and listen to the wonderful and imaginative stories written by Dr. Seuss. National Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd — Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and you can, too!

We want to encourage partner, like you, to come visit W.D. Kelley to read your favorite Dr. Seuss book. You can dress up, or bring snacks. You can use wonderful voices, or present with others. Whatever ideas you have for participating in this wonderful celebration are welcome. We plan for most reading to take place in the morning.

Dr. Seuss epitomizes the love of children and learning. Also, his use of rhyme make his books an effective tool for teaching young children the basic literacy and resiliency skills they need to be successful. When we celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading, we send a clear message to America’s children that reading is fun and important and we know how much you’d like to be apart of sharing this wonderful message.

Thank you for your time and energy. Please RSVP by February 1st to Malarie Grace at malariegrace@phennd.org or by phone at 267 973 8458.
