volunteers needed, Clark Park Discovery Day

Posted by on January 20, 2014

The Penn Science Festival Coalition has begun preparations for organizing the University’s participation in the 2014 Philadelphia Science Festival, an annual celebration of the sciences in the region. Opportunities for faculty, students and staff vary from providing hands-on experiments, presentations on scientific topics, and volunteering in the Festival’s extensive program of special events.  Penn’s signature outreach activity is Clark Park Discovery Day (Saturday, April 26) in which members of the West Philadelphia scientific community present learning opportunities to local residents. Consider registering to participate in this and other community-based outreach activities by going to the Festival website to learn more. Want to become engaged with the Festival, but you’re not a scientist?  Click here to learn about the variety of roles for volunteers. Questions regarding the Philadelphia Science Festival and Penn’s involvement can be answered by Gina Lavery at ginalla@upenn.edu.
