Posted by Camp Erin Philadelphia on November 30, 2015

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Camp Erin® – Philadelphia 2016 volunteer!

Camp Erin Philadelphia is a weekend overnight camp designed for children and teens (ages 6-17) that have experienced the death of a significant person (s). It is a traditional, high energy, fun filled camp coupled with grief support and education.
The Camp will be held May 13-15, 2016, at College Settlement Camp in Horsham, Pennsylvania.

Trainings are mandatory for new volunteers and will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, and April 2, 2016, at our offices in Bala Cynwyd. There will be a Preview Party lunch for campers and their families on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at College Settlement Camp and is also mandatory, exception will be issued on a case by case basis. Please make sure you will be available.

There are many opportunities to be a volunteer for Camp Erin Philadelphia. Our volunteers report that their experience is moving and enriching—and sometimes life changing!

Most volunteers will be on-site working with children; therefore, we are required to complete a thorough background check including criminal record, child abuse clearance and fingerprinting. We will also request copies of your driver’s license, current auto insurance cards and health insurance card as well as a medical clearance form.

We encourage you to apply as soon as possible! Spots fill up quickly. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule an interview. Later, we will provide instructions for completing the background checks.

Please return these forms no later than January 15, 2016. Getting them in early will give you time to do the next phase—background checks—which can take up to 8 weeks.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you again for your interest in joining us!
