Volunteer Tax Preparers Needed For Upcoming Tax Season

What: The United Way and the Campaign For Working Families are looking for intelligent, motivated people to join our tax preparation team. Last year alone 447 tax volunteers brought $20.5 Million back into Philadelphia homes and businesses through refunds and tax credits. This year our goals are even higher! Volunteering as a tax preparer is a great way to help those in your community, learn an indispensable skill and meet some of Philadelphia?s top professionals.

Volunteer Requirements: You will be officially certified by the IRS to provide professional-level tax preparation. In order for certification, all volunteers must take an orientation and two training courses, scheduled at your convenience. We are asking all volunteers to make a 4-hour a week commitment for 10 weeks, for a total of 40 hours. The tax season will run from January 17 thru April 15.

Where: The Campaign for Working Families provides 17 tax sites throughout Philadelphia. Volunteers are most significantly needed in South/ Southwest Philadelphia. You can find a listing of all our tax sites at http://www.uwsepa.org/volunteer/EITC_Sites.html

Contact Us: All volunteers must register themselves for the program. If you are interested, go to http://www.uwsepa.org/volunteer/eitc.html and click on ?Apply to Volunteer?. If you have any questions, please email taxvolunteer@uwsepa.org or call the volunteer hotline at 215-665-2544.
