Summary:
EducationWorks (EW), located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the availability of a one-year position beginning immediately. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in supporting students and urban education, while also gaining experience in non-profit capacity building and program expansion.

Responsibilities:
Working with the EW Recruitment Director, the specific responsibilities include:

1. Establish relationships with local universities to provide volunteers for the Early Learning Center, after school, and summer programs.
a. Meet with College Recruitment departments.
b. Create or adapt in conjunction with EW Recruitment Director; recruitment materials specifically for college students.
c. Develop and initiate a volunteer plan for placement, training, and transition to volunteer sites.
2. Promote VISTA and AmeriCorps volunteer service to university students.
a. Travel to college volunteer fairs and promote EW, VISTA, and AmeriCorps.
3. Adapt the New Jersey Volunteer Manual for use in Philadelphia.
4. Manage service learning projects involving students and community members on Martin Luther King Day of Service and National Youth Service Day.

Living Allowance and Benefits:
? Monthly living allowance, $894.00 (before taxes)
? Health care
? Child care, partial, if eligible
? Relocation allowance up to $500, if eligible
? Education award of $4,725 or cash stipend of $1,200 at the completion of service
? Student loan forbearance and one year accrued interest paid on loans

Qualifications:
A VISTA Coordinator must be 18 years of age, or older, a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident, and have at minimum, an Associates Degree. We are seeking individuals with excellent writing and outreach/public speaking skills, and who are highly organized. General knowledge of Word and Outlook is necessary. Access to a car is also required.
