Domestic Violence Report Presentation
The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice’s Ortner Center on Family Violence released a report on domestic violence to City Council and local officials. The report cited domestic violence against women as a growing public health issue. The document presented a comprehensive view of domestic violence in the city between 2005 and 2011, compiling data from sources that included the Philadelphia Police, Department of Human Services, the District Attorney’s Office and city courts. Funding for the report was provided by the Philadelphia Foundation and the Trustees’ Council of Penn Women.
