Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week!
Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week is a joint effort of community partners, afterschool programs, youth and child development workers and individuals who have committed to declaring the last full week of April each year as a time to recognize and appreciate those who work with youth during out-of-school hours. Join us for celebrations and display your appreciation to thank afterschool professionals who make a difference in the lives of young people. Get ideas and more from the National Afterschool Association here.

How well do you know your (afterschool) history?
You’re invited to the April Sandbox Gathering: “not your same old, same old professional development” and watch the new documentary The History of Afterschool. This month’s gathering will go a little longer than usual to make time to view the 1 hr long documentary. April 11th, 9am-11am at Buzz Cafe: 1800 Howard Street. The Sandbox Gathering is always FREE to attend. RSVP here.

Fab Youth Philly is hiring for summer (and beyond!)!
We’ve got over 10 PT positions to fill this summer. We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant, up to 3 Play Captain Supervisors and up to 8 Play Captain Group Leaders. Learn more and apply at: http://www.fabyouthphilly.com/join-our-team

Know a teen that loves to work with children? Encourage them to apply to become a Play Captain.
Being a Play Captain is like being a ‘camp counselor.’ Teens are trained to take traditional games like hop-scotch and four square and add new twists or make them age-appropriate for children using a playful learning approach. Play Captains work in Philly’s neighborhoods on the Play Streets. Learn more here: http://www.playcaptains.com
