United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania (UWSEPA) uses funding, capacity building, volunteer mobilization and advocacy strategies to achieve sustained improvements in community conditions.

To achieve its goals, UWSEPA follows a community impact plan that focuses on the following areas of need: Investing in Our Children/Youth; Building Adult Independence; Promoting Healthy Living.

They are seeking experienced and motivated individuals for the following positions:

Unit Director, Agency Support: Oversee and manage programmatic and organizational capacity-building activities for United Way’s network of agencies.
Qualifications: Degree in human services, non-profit management, business or marketing – Master’s preferred; at least 2 years in health and human service field; 5 years supervisory experience with professional staff; 3 years experience providing training and/or technical assistance and program management; 5 years of resource development activities, with contract solicitation experience preferred.

Agency Support Coordinator I: Coordinate logistics and track fiscal and attendance activity for all unit capacity-building activities and programs. Create training, assessment and fiscal reports as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or formal computer training preferred; experience in coordinating meetings/events; bookkeeping experience; proficiency in Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Proficiency in database creation, revision and reporting essential.

Community Impact Manager (3 positions): Develop and implement capacity-building and funding strategies/activities to support United Way’s network of agencies and programs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field; 5 years experience in health and human service field (with 2 years program management experience), with direct service in at least one area of need preferred; 3 years experience providing training and technical assistance.

Public Engagement Coordinator I: Coordinate public engagement activities in support of United Way’s Community Impact Plan. Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in business, communications, social work or related field; knowledge and at least 1 year of experience in public engagement techniques and strategies.

Public Engagement Manager: Manage the design and implementation of public engagement activities; to educate target audiences about the Community Impact Plan; to engage people in community service. Qualifications: Degree in business, communications, social work or related field (Master’s preferred). At least 5 years of demonstrated public engagement experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.

Public Policy Manager: Manage public policy activities in support of Community Impact Plan including the design and implementation of public policy activities associated with the Plan. Qualifications: Degree in public policy, political science, law, sociology or other field that has developed knowledge and expertise of the social conditions addressed by the Plan (Master’s preferred); understanding of public policy issues and processes in the social policy arena. At least two years of demonstrated public policy experience in one of the areas of need.
