Lutheran Settlement House Founded in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization, committed to providing comprehensive services to vulnerable children, adults, and families living in inner city Philadelphia.  LSH integrates social, educational and advocacy services through the provision of the following programs: Bilingual Domestic Violence Program (BDVP), Community Education & Employment Department (CEED), Jane Addams Place Homeless Services, and LSH Senior Center and Services.

Lutheran Settlement House is seeking to fill the following positions:

* Part-time Community/Senior Hunger Intern
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Community/Senior Hunger Intern will be responsible for creating a strategic plan for seniors and community members to develop healthier choices with fresh fruits and vegetables and provide healthier food options in food pantry, served meal program, and work to expand LSH’s Intergenerational Gardening Project.

Position is opened until filled.  Small stipend available based on experience.

* Part-time Development and Public Relations Coordinator:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Part-time Development and Public Relations Coordinator will be responsible for media and public relations, community outreach and engagement, event planning, and publications in both print and web-based formats. Will also, assist with individual donor cultivation, including maintenance of the donor database, as well as some grant writing. Will work with the Executive Director and Development Manager and will assist with volunteer recruitment and management as part of the agency volunteer team. Experience with using social media for non-profit marketing and outreach is preferred.

* The Family Advocate:
Will provide trauma-informed, clinical case management to a caseload of approximately 15 female- headed families experiencing homelessness. The Family Advocate will manage a diverse caseload of women and children of all ages, with varying mental health, drug and alcohol, child welfare, and other social service system involvement.

Primary responsibilities include:
•    Creating an Individualized Service Plan for each family
•    Holding weekly individual and/or family sessions
•    Completing Transitional Housing applications
•    Addressing areas of program noncompliance
•    Presenting at weekly Client Progress Review meetings
•    Working collaboratively with residential and other staff to implement appropriate interventions
•    Coordinating care with other involved professionals

Because Jane Addams Place practices the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care, the ideal candidate will be familiar with trauma-informed care and must demonstrate a willingness to provide trauma-informed services.

A BSW or equivalent is required for this position. Two to three years experience in social services is helpful. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Must be willing to work 2 evenings per week.
