Translating Addiction Research into IMPACT

Please join us for a discussion about how the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act will change access and quality in behavioral healthcare. The event will feature a keynote address by Patrick J. Kennedy, Former Congressman (D-RI), and Founder of One Mind for Research. Mr. Kennedy was one of the major architects of this legislation in the House, and has dedicated himself to ensuring full and successful implementation of the law.

The Affordable Care and Parity Acts are pivotal pieces of legislation that provide recognition of the “promise of a new way” provided by more than three decades of basic, clinical, prevention and health services research in alcohol, cigarette and other substance use problems. The opportunity exists like never before to significantly change the way the disease of addiction is perceived and managed by society. In order to realize this opportunity, we must leverage innovations in research, treatment, policy and public education.
