Teen Voices of the City Ensemble

Do you like to sing?  Do you want to be part of an amazing group of teens who will come together to become a community of young musicians? Do you want to learn about music and singing?

Then you’re the perfect person to join the Teen Voices of the City Ensemble, or T-VOCE (tee-VO-chay). Voce comes from the Italian word for voice and we want to hear your voices! Your singing voice, your opinions, and what you have to say.

Join us for T-VOCE and make friends with young people just like you!

Brought to you by three great Philadelphia organizations, Art Sanctuary, Opera Philadelphia and Play On, Philly!, T-VOCE is open to all students, ages 13-19. You don’t need to have any musical experience; all you need is a love of singing!

We’ll rehearse at West Catholic Preparatory High School in the music building. The entrance to the building is at 46^th and Chestnut Streets, just a few blocks from the Market-Frankford blue line. The building also has a gated parking lot. Public transit tokens will be available again this year and will be distributed at the first rehearsal.

We’re super thankful to Play On, Philly! for providing the rehearsal space. Even more exciting is that if you’re interested in taking a music class, Play On, Philly! can help with that, too. Just mention that on the registration form at https://www.operaphila.org/in-schools/t-voce-form/.

Rehearsals start on March 11^th at 10:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 p.m.  We’ll distribute a full rehearsal schedule in late February. And we have a performance scheduled on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts as part of its International Children’s Festival.
